Sale Cattle - Females

Focus on Females Sale - November 17, 2007

download catalog

We took the cream of the crop when we chose the heifers to offer in our Focus on the Female sale.  We strongly believe these heifers will go on not only in the show ring but more importantly the genetic impact they will have in your personal herds is yet to be measured.  We are proud to offer this year’s set of stylish ladies. I stand behind the cow families, these heifers are a testimony of what I believe Yardley Cattle have the ability to produce.  Everybody needs a YARDLEY GIRL, GET YOU ONE!

YARDLEY GIRLS OF 2007

YI Miss Tyra T13
PB Angus
BD: 2/10/07 - HPS: P - BW: 76 - WW: 682

Miss Yardley R158
                                                8505 by Triple Threat

You can do a double take, it’s okay, she really is cool.  This heifer is the goal of what we have aimed our Angus program towards.  Extended through her front with, rib shape to be admired, and a hind leg that you wish you could put on every Angus.  If your looking for substance and style she’s got it.  With generations of strong females this heifer is a keeper.  We sure like our Balancer calves.  They really grow after a small birth weight.  Some of our best young cows are by SC Stokman.

YI Miss Liberty T5

Miss Yardley R205
                                                G231 by Spade

Miss Liberty has been a favorite since she was a baby.  This heifer has the “look” to go far.  Miss Liberty is super fronted, with depth to spare, and length that is amazing in a heifer this age. The SC Stockman daughters are proving themselves as dams with the ability to produce eye catching, bloomy calves.  Warehouse progeny are popular.

Oh Black Betty! If you need a market heifer that has a little extra to look at then take this one home. Everyone who has walked through the calves has inquired on Betty, she’s easy to spot and easier to love.  She is massive topped with a powerful hind leg, good structured, pretty fronted, really deep and moderate sized-Bad Monday was Reserve Grand Champion Simmental bull in Denver in 1991.  We bought an interest in him.  What more could you want from a female?

YI Miss Delia May T115

Miss Yardley M7
                                                K77 by Preferred Stock

Miss Delia May moves out with style, and turns heads.  Pinion has excelled our expectations, his heifer calves are my favorite set this year.  Uniformed across the board with their rib capacity and deep flank, they are proving to make awesome bred heifers.  Delia is one of my favorites. Sturdy is a moderate framed son of Meyer 734.

                                Yardley Black Beaver Y139
Miss Yardley F73
                                Miss Yardley P274

Pinion is making his mark as a producer of great females and this heifer is no exception. Her dam is typical of the Black Beaver daughters that have made their mark in our program.  We bred Black Beaver until he was 12 years old, some bulls continually add to your program and Black Beaver did just that. Sassy has tremendous capacity and is extremely balanced throughout.  She has the ability to show and could very well end up in your donor pen.  F73 son topped our bull sale several years ago selling to Frank Stetson, Maybell, CO for $4,800.

Miss Yardley M100
                                H27 by Spade

Don’t miss this heifer.  There are two cow families that I love above all others at Yardley Cattle Company and this heifer hails from one of them.  Miss Yardley H27 is the kind of cow that sends cold chills down your back, moderate framed, wedgy, soggy made female that does not miss.  M100 is a cookie cutter copy of her mother.  Jealous Girlfriend is the kind to start a legacy with.  Double bred Meyer 734.

Meyer 734 daughters true potential comes in their ability to make great cows.  The impact that Meyer 734 has had on the industry needs no introduction.  I bought K412 in Richard Hutchings sale specifically for this mating, I had to dicker with Rolf to get her!   At twelve years of age she still had a perfect udder with nice small teats, broody ribbed, and wedgy.  The bulls out of the mating are some of the top of the pen.

F119 has been a super consistent dam of high selling progeny with the sale topper for $5,500 in our Wahoo Nebraska sale of 2003.  Miss Tanika catches your eye as soon as you walk in the pen with her big top and style.  She combines great dimension with excellent conformation and structural soundness. Cervaza sold for $77,000.  Our high selling bull last spring was out of him, going to Jim Jones of Oregon.

These heifers didn’t just end up in this pen, we picked and re-picked, wanting to offer the very best.  Miss Bandino was a heifer I’ve known was meant for this sale since the first of the summer.  Bando 1024 progeny have eye appeal from the time their babies and she is no exception.  Take the time to study her makeup, she has tremendous bone for an Angus and the thickness that one could easily argue belongs on a crossbred.  She is a favorite! Xplorer is by Krugerand 490 and we love this blood line.

Half bloods this stout and stylish are difficult to find.  Take the time to study this heifer, she has the legs, rib, and shape to show and then turn around and make a maternal powerhouse.  The OCC Doctors are working well for Mid Continent Farms not only as purebred angus cattle but as a base to cross breed.  Tinkerbell has the ability to add some magic no matter the direction you take her.  We paid $3,700 for her mother as a bred heifer, and I thought she was one of the very best Angus heifers I’ve seen from Mid-Continent Farms in Kansas.

These heifers aren’t like a woman you can take home as many of them as you can afford and they won’t get jealous!  Good reason to like cattle!  Hottie was in the last bunch of heifers to wean, and I knew I wanted her for this sale.  She has the “look.”  She is a big bodied, smooth muscled female out of a tremendous cow.  Miss Yardley N13 is a deep sided, easy fleshing cow, the kind that is never out of style. I went back to DeRouchy’s and picked the bull calf I liked the best. He was DCC Union Power & cost $16,000.

This heifer will stand out no matter where she goes and not just because of the white.  You have to appreciate the extension through her front, the openness in her rib shape, and style that makes you look twice.  Roulette daughters are some of our best cows.

DCC Total Package was raised by DeRouchy Cattle Company and was the Grand Champion Maine Anjou Bull at Denver 2006.  He was one of the best bulls I’ve ever seen of any breed.  Miss Molly displays extraordinary width with extra muscle shape and expression.  She has as much power as any heifer in the pen and is defiantly in the running for a favorite.  This heifer carries a great deal of softness and femininity she with her stoutness, she’s destined for success

The Cherokee bred cattle are proving themselves as brood cows.  Take the time to study the foot and leg on this heifer.  Cherokee Lady is tremendously sound structured with the base width and power in her skeletal makeup and muscle pattern to ensure success.  She’s going to just keep getting better with time.  Cherokee is built just lika a square box.  I thought he was one of the best bulls I’d seen.  Max Redgate of Oklahoma raised him and he made me him $8,200 to own him.

F15 is a cow that dreams are made of, she consistently produces quality and performance, and she did not miss with Pollyanna.  Many of you will remember one of the sale favorites last year, Little Whiskey Girl that sold to Dirk Johnson of Tetonia Idaho for $3,000.  She went on to have a successful show career in California.  Pollyanna has the style and look to follow in her sisters footsteps, she just keeps getting better with time. Contender is the bull Mike Hartman syndicated for $300,000, and a bull out of this same flush sold to Kay Baumgardner of Rifle CO for $4,500.
